June 11 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

thegarrickyear

The Brown Book Club will meet in Silver Spring on Sunday, June 11, to discuss The Garrick Year by Margaret Drabble. We’ll begin at 6pm with dinner, then go on to discussion.  Please RSVP by Friday, June 9 by contacting the event organizer, who will provide location information. Mention any food allergies, and bring $6 – $8 for the meal.

“Drabble deals with women in a way that many others gloss over…the thoughts, the fears, the strength…The book is 50 years old, the story still holds up today.” (Amazon)

“The story unfolds in such a way that nuances of character and observation have all the surprise and dramatic impact normally reserved for unusual external events…” (NYT)

Fiction, 172 pages. 1964.
