Become a BCDC Member
BCDC fosters community and furthers intellectual curiosity and exploration among Brown University alumni and their friends in the greater Washington, D.C. area. The club organizes a variety of events throughout the year, including social events, cultural events, sporting events, alumni spotlight events, and educational events, as well as ongoing programs such as the Brown DC Book club.
Your paid dues will help actively support BCDC’s ongoing community-building efforts and growth, including subsidizing programming for alums and current Brown students in DC, and fostering connections with members and the broader Brown alumni community through events, social media, and other platforms. Benefits include discounted rates on certain ticketed events and other perks as set by the current board. Young alums who are able or so moved to purchase membership at a different tier are welcomed to do so as a way of supporting our programming.
2022-2023 Membership Fees
Thayer Street Membership
$50 – This is our standard/default annual membership dues.
Hope Street Membership
$100 – All alums, including young alums, who can provide additional philanthropic support for our BCDC community.
Benefit Street Membership
$25 – A lower-cost alternative to our standard membership. Available for any alum, including young alums.
College Hill Membership
FREE – Alternative membership available to young alums who graduated within the five years – 2017 or later.

Joining the BCDC Board
The COVID-19 pandemic reminded our society how vitally important community and connection are to our health and wellbeing. The mission of the Brown Club of Washington, DC is to foster community among our alumni in the greater Washington, DC area. This is made possible by an all-volunteer board, made up of undergraduate and graduate alumni of all class years, who cultivate connections between alumni nd between alumni and the University through a variety of events and activities throughout the year.
We strive to provide engagement opportunities that are as diverse as our alumni community; activity categories include:
- Intellectual: lectures and panels featuring Brown faculty members and distinguished alumni
- Professional: career development and networking events
- Social: happy hours, sporting events, and family park picnics
- Nature Adventures: hikes, bike rides, and sailing excursions
- Cultural: wine tasting trips, museum tours, and book talks
- Volunteer Service: give back to both the Washington, DC area and Brown
